Personnel Security / BOS

Adjudications:

BIE PERSEC is responsible for making Suitability determinations on all persons supporting BIE. Suitability (referred to as 'fitness' for contactors or volunteers), refers to a person's character or conduct that may have an impact on the integrity or efficiency of the individual's government service. Certain standards of character are used to evaluate whether employees will fulfill their position duties and responsibilities effectively, and in doing so, support the agency's reputation and mission. Of utmost importance at BIE, is the PSS's responsibility to ensure that an individual's past conduct would not interfere with the Subject's performance of duties, nor would the subject's service create an immediate or long-term risk for Indian children.
